Dine at one of New Jersey’s famous 24-Hour Diners! New Jersey has the most Diners per capita in the world. One of our personal favorites is the Edison Diner off Route 1. It is a must-try Diner with a delicious and extensive menu and a wonderful atmosphere.

 

 

The Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton New Jersey is a 42-acre sculpture park. The park promotes contemporary sculpture and offers a variety of educational programs and seasonal opportunities.

 

 

The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning is the largest summertime Hot Air Balloon Festival in North America. It is held annually in late July at the Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ. You can come to the festival to listen to music, watch the launching of the Hot Air Balloons. Or even participate in a balloon ride yourself! All for just around 200$!

 

 

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are two National Monuments that represent the rich history of the United States of America. The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the U.S. from France in 1886. The statue represents freedom and is a beacon to immigrants travelling from far off countries (many of whom traveled to Ellis Island). Ellis Island was an immigrant inspection station from 1892 to 1954. Around 22 million immigrants passed through Ellis Island, and if your ancestors were part of this 22 million you can find their records at ellisisland.org But did you know that the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are both located in New Jersey waters?!

Lucy The Elephant is a six-story elephant shaped building constructed in 1881 in Margate City right out of Atlantic City, NJ. Lucy has served as a hotel, restaurant, tavern, business office, and now a museum.

 

 

The Liberty Science Center is a fun and interactive educational museum located in Jersey City. The Liberty Science Center also has the largest IMAX Dome theater in the United States!

 

 

Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. There are eleven themed areas inside the park including an animal safari and Hurricane Water Park. Six Flags Great Adventure is the largest amusement park in the world - 510 acres - 10 acres more than Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Six Flags Great Adventure also has the Tallest Rollercoaster in the world, Kingda Ka and goes 456 feet tall!

 

 

The Miss America Pageant is a 92 year old pageant that initiated in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It serves a “scholarship pageant” as the primary prizes for the winner and runners-up are scholarship to universities and graduate schools. The Miss America Pageant moved to Las Vegas in January 2006, but has now returned to Atlantic City!
